Dr. Salaar Khan grew up on Long Island in New York. He attended Brown University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts with Honors. At Brown, Dr. Khan was inducted into Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honors Society. He then received a Master of Arts in Biotechnology from Columbia University. Dr. Khan then attended dental school at Columbia University, where he received the Divisional Excellence in Foundational Sciences Award and received the Office of Admissions Award for Leadership and Service. Dr. Khan went on to complete a three-year residency in orthodontics, receiving a Master of Science in Orthodontics and an Advanced Certificate in Orthodontics. While in residency, Dr. Khan’s research on virtual reality teaching aids, Visuo-Haptic VR and AR Guidance for Dental Nerve Block Education, was published in IEEE.
Dr. Khan and his wife, Silvia, have one young son, Luca, and are thrilled to call North Carolina home! Outside the office, the family enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with family.
